Hey there, and welcome to Mind Over Muffin Tops! We’re so glad you stumbled across our little corner of the internet. Whether you’re here because you’ve tried every diet under the sun, are completely over the scale drama, or just want to start feeling better in your body without losing your mind—we see you.
We’re a married couple (hi, I’m S.C., and my husband Stephen is usually in the background with a spatula or a snarky comment), and we’re on a journey—not to perfection, but to peace. And yeah, that might include weight loss. But we’re not leading with that. We’re leading with mindset.
At one point, I weighed nearly 600 pounds. And not the kind of weight you joke about or hide behind a flowy top. I mean the kind of weight that leaves physical and emotional scars. But instead of chasing skinny, I chased change. Sustainable change. The kind that sticks when motivation disappears and life throws curveballs.
This blog is all about that kind of change.
Here, we’re not offering miracle cures or “one weird trick” to drop 30 pounds by Tuesday. We’re offering honest conversations about what it really takes to shift your thinking, rebuild trust with your body, and take one step at a time toward better health—no matter your starting size.
We’ll talk about:
- Reframing your thoughts so they stop sabotaging your progress
- Eating in a way that fuels you without making you feel like a failure
- Moving your body in ways that don’t feel like punishment
- Managing stress and getting the sleep your body actually needs
- Doing it all as a couple—or with your own support squad—because community matters
We’re big believers that your mindset is the real game-changer. Not your weight, not your jeans size, not how clean your pantry looks. If you can shift how you think, everything else can follow—including how you feel in your skin.
So if you’re ready to stop waiting until you’re “smaller” or “more motivated” to take care of yourself—welcome. You’re in the right place.
We’re here for the wins, the setbacks, the muffin tops, and the messy middle.
Let’s do this—one mindset shift at a time.
With love and a pinch of sass,
Andie & Stephen
