You probably didn’t expect 17th-century philosopher René Descartes to show up in your weight loss journey—but stay with us, because his approach to thinking just might help you finally break free from the cycle of diets, doubt, and discouragement.

- “Every small step matters, even when it doesn’t feel dramatic.”
- “I don’t have to be perfect. I just have to keep going.”
This isn’t about pretending everything is easy—it’s about questioning what’s been holding you back and realizing you’re more powerful than you think.
How to Practice Radical Doubt in Real Life
If you want to put this into action, here’s a quick mindset reset inspired by Descartes himself:
- Write down 3 beliefs you hold about your weight, health, or ability to change.
Be honest, even if they feel heavy. - Ask: “Is this absolutely, always, 100% true?”
Could it just be something you’ve believed, not something that’s real? - Choose a new thought that opens the door to possibility.
You don’t have to go full sunshine and rainbows—just something more empowering. - Take one action today based on that new belief.
A walk. A better meal. A kind word to yourself. Let action support your new mindset.
